Multimedia Part 2

Anne will yet again come up with insights into effective use of Reunion. Her choice this month, is part two of Reunion Multimedia. There is much to be learned as Anne will explain very clearly.

This is your meeting, your time to shine. Bring questions, projects and complaints! We will crowd-source answers to all items you bring up. We will also have rapt attention to your topics as we LOVE Reunion 14.

Tip: There most recent update (June 2024) is "14.0: (Build 25620)". Click "Reunion", then "About Reunion" to see which version/build you have.

It's recommended that you upgrade to the latest version of Reunion (14) and join us.

We usually start each session with questions from last month’s topic before diving into this month's talk.

Often a mixed format is adopted which incorporates a formal presentation, demonstration of the use of Reunion, and a problem solving session where individualized help is provided

To register for this event, go to the SDGS Website Calendar. This event will be open to the first 100 people.

Help from ChatGPT

The Reunion app's Help is second to none. Far better than paper manuals.

  • Help | Contents will let you survey all topics, and choose what to learn
  • Help | Search will often get you directly to the topic you want
  • Question Mark | When using Reunion, pressing the lower left-hand corner's question mark, which will reveal context-sensitive help that often answers your question.
  • At any point, Press CMD ? and view Reunion's Context sensitive help. Wherever you are in Reunion, the help menu will display choices based on what you're doing.

Moving Files To move one or more files you can just click/drag to a destination folder. But, did you know if you select some files and press "CMD C", then, navigate to where you want to move the files and press "OPT CMD V" it will move the files, not just copy them.

Save As Apple did away with the Save As function in Finder. However, if before saving a file you press the OPTION key the "SAVE AS" menu option will replace the "SAVE" option giving you much more flexibility when saving files.

Creating an Alias on Desktop
Hold down OPT and CMD whilst click/dragging a file to the desktop and an Alias to that same file will be created.

Use CMD UP ARROW to navigate upwards in the Finder file structure. (Also CMD DOWN ARROW, RIGHT ARROW AND LEFT ARROW navigation. Experiment with it!).
